Location
Aberporth is a small friendly fishing village which nestles around two sandy beaches and is surrounded by traditional farmland and dramatic sea cliffs.
Both beaches are safe for swimming (blue-flag rated) and both have a small stream flowing out to sea as well as ample opportunity to explore rock pools at low tide. One beach is protected by RNLI lifeguards during the summer months and the other welcomes dogs throughout the year.
Hirwaun House is situated in the heart of the old village, a short stroll through parkland from the beaches. The village offers a local shop, two Churches, a launderette, a chemist, a fish and chip/Chinese takeaway, a café and two pubs all within a short walk from the house.
Close by is a children’s playground and recreation area and parks with benches overlooking the Ceredigion Heritage Coast from where dolphins and porpoises are regularly sighted. The dramatic coastal walking path passes within a few hundred metres of the house.
Further afield, Cardigan offer lots of sporting and cultural activities including a theatre and outdoor activity and water sports centre and an indoor soft play centre to entertain children in bad weather. The Pembroke Coast National Park and Preselli hills are a short drive away for those seeking rambling terrain.
